Dreams are what will guide you to imagine the life you want. Discipline is what will guide you to create it. Temptation is what will guide you to dream.
Temptation: the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise.
Noun
Drugs, money, coffee, staying in bed when you need to get up. The list could go on and on. It’s all the million little things that temp us, often portrayed as something we should not want. As a forbidden fruit. Something alluring that we absolutely cannot do, but what our heart desires the most.
The thing is however, we end up doing it anyway. Most of the time at least. We hit the snooze button one too many times, ending up as a rushing mess 30 minutes later. We drink that extra cup of latte late in the afternoon. Stay for that extra coctail, even though we promised to attend that 8 o’clock meeting the next day. Why?
The reason why is simple — because we want to. Throwing away all objective logic, all the “shoulds” and all the “musts”, these are things we want to do. Deep down inside. We want to throw away the responsibilities thrown upon us, escape for the moment or choose a different life than the one we have.
And that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
